Ripe black fruits, cherry and plum, some regional Bendigo mint at the edges nicely settled and integrated.  Depth and drive, the Shiraz shines though and underscores the dark cherry flavour of Tinta Roriz. Tannins are sturdy and well shaped, drawing long and soulful through the finish . Rating 94/100

The Pondalowie vintage port shows amazing strength, power and some complexity, most commendable in one so young (2003). Very little vintage port seems to be made these days – it’s perhaps not a product which appeals very much to the general public. Good to see a relatively new maker (est. 1995) doing it so well. It was a great finale to the night.
